At RIMS we strongly believe that Nursing education is not all about classroom education and we emphasize in hands-on practical training, and the modern specialized nursing laboratories of our institute play a crucial role in ensuring that students gain the necessary skills to excel in their profession.
Fundamental Nursing Lab
The fundamental nursing lab provides the basic foundation for nursing practice. Students learn basic nursing procedures like vital signs measurement, hygiene care, medication administration, and wound care. It is equipped with patient simulators and essential nursing tools to help students build core clinical skills.
Medical–Surgical Nursing Lab
The Medical–Surgical Nursing Lab focuses on adult health care through hands-on training in a simulated clinical environment. Students practice managing medical conditions, surgical wounds, and post-operative care using advanced equipment and high-fidelity simulation mannequins, preparing them for real hospital-based clinical settings.
Maternal and Child Health Nursing Lab
The Maternal and Child Health Nursing Lab equips students with essential skills in pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care. Through simulated labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care scenarios, students gain practical experience and confidence for maternal and child health settings.
Nutrition and Dietetics Lab
The Nutrition and Dietetics Lab helps students understand the role of nutrition in patient care. Students learn meal planning, therapeutic diets, and food science, and practice creating diet plans for various medical conditions to support effective nutrition management in healthcare.
Paediatric Nursing Lab
Specializing in the care of infants and children, this lab enables students to practice paediatric care, such as administering medications, assessing growth and development, and handling paediatric emergencies. Child simulators and paediatric equipment help create a child-centred learning environment.
Obstetrics and Gynaecology Lab
The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Lab provides hands-on training in women’s health, including prenatal, antenatal, and postnatal care. Students develop practical skills in managing pregnancy, labor, and common gynaecological conditions in a simulated clinical setting.
Psychiatry–Mental Health Nursing Lab
The Psychiatry–Mental Health Nursing Lab focuses on developing essential mental health nursing skills. Students learn therapeutic communication, psychological assessment, and crisis intervention through simulated scenarios, helping them build empathy and effective patient-care approaches.
Anatomy and Physiology Lab
The Anatomy and Physiology Lab provides a strong foundation in understanding the structure and function of the human body. Through models, specimens, and dissections, students gain essential knowledge needed to understand medical conditions and clinical treatments.
Microbiology and Biochemistry Lab
The Microbiology and Biochemistry Lab introduces students to pathogens and the biochemical processes of the human body. Students learn infection control, laboratory diagnostics, and essential biochemical tests vital for disease diagnosis and quality patient care.
Simulation Lab
The Simulation Lab uses high-fidelity simulators to recreate real-life clinical scenarios, from routine procedures to emergency situations. It offers a safe, controlled environment where students develop clinical decision-making, teamwork, and patient care skills for complex healthcare settings.
